Sacred Strokes are four courses developed by Jenny Ray to teach specific stone layouts and strokes for treatment of well defined issues. This education deepens the process for those who have completed level one of Stone Medicine. The pre-requisite course offers the necessary knowledge of the science behind your stone practice and the ceremonial background that will prepare you for the next level in healing through the Stone People.

Sacred Strokes is the name given to special layouts and stroke sequence that come to the Shaman during vision time. Many of this group of strokes has been offered to Jenny Ray in vision, some have been gifted to her from her fathers visions, and with the assistance of her tribe members, these have been fine-tuned to become the individual strokes you will learn.  

Each ‘stroke’ is actually a sequence of motions and stone placement that is a full body treatment. All of the strokes are offered in a ceremonial attitude but because they are so specific and reproducible they work very well for the spa setting.  

A portion of any one of the strokes may be added to a regular Stone Medicine or Original Body treatment or they may be the focus of the entire session.  

There are 12 individual treatment sequences offered in the 4 Sacred Strokes courses.  Each day is spent in demonstrations and lectures followed by practice sessions. There are four separate Sacred Stokes courses, with three strokes or treatments, in each course. They are listed as Sacred Strokes 1, 2, 3 and 4, but you may take the classes in any order.  

The course manuals offer full illustration and written text to support your continuing growth with these procedures.  

In these advanced level courses, the student is focused on spiritual and emotional healing for the client as well as physical rehabilitation. It is important to know which of the strokes can assist the client with stress relief and emotional balance depending on the specific issues in their life situation.  

Some specific issues may include; grief, depression, physical or emotional imbalance, trauma and post trauma symptoms, domestic violence, addictions and other complications.  Generally speaking a client will have physical symptoms relative to these emotional imbalances that can be dealt with in a variety of modalities. Choosing Sacred Strokes is a method that allows the therapist to tailor the treatment process to the specific needs of the individual.  

These strokes and specific stone placement techniques are very ancient in nature. The Shaman has a variety of wellness techniques at his/her disposal. Knowing which method to incorporate to maximize comfort and symptom relief is as important as knowing the methodology. This course will assist the therapist in understanding how the client has come to this place of imbalance and how to best assist them with recovery.  

A pleasurable benefit of knowing these strokes for the therapist is a renewed sense of purpose, lack of boredom and a re-energized treatment plan.

These advanced courses are recommended for the committed Stone Walker who wishes to enhance and deepen their relationship with the stones and offer new forms of healing to the client.

The only prerequisite for this course is Stone Medicine 1, however it is suggested that the practitioner also be certified in Original Body by a certified LaStone Instructor.
