Stone Medicine One

(A four day event see calendar or hosting for more information)

Stone Medicine courses offer scientifically proven methods of wellness.

In level one the practitioner learns specific strokes and stone placement using various temperatures (Geothermal Therapy) to relieve stress, improve circulation, reduce inflammation, alleviate pain,  improve immunity, aid detoxification, remove swelling and enhance over all health.

Education on topics such as; contraindications, safe temperature ranges, proper sanitation and hygiene, professional presentation, proper draping with stones, ethics and marketing, compliment the course content.  Ceremony is introduced as a method of connection to Mother Earth in the traditions of the Native American who first developed this method of wellness.

Each morning of class finds the students seated in
'Sacred Circle'

An Altar is developed over the course of the four days that offers ancient wisdom to the group.

Participation in the free ceremonial activities offered during the course enlighten the gathering on how to ‘Walk the Stone People’ in honor. A variety of ceremonies come to life, including ‘Smudge’, ‘Shamanic Journey’, ‘Prayer Tie Offerings’, ‘Gathering/Harvesting’ and of course
‘Inyan Pejuta’ (Stone Medicine).

Detailed explanations of how to care for the stones and how to offer them in a respectful manner help the practitioner recognize the importance of this modality for modern society.

Life as a ‘Stone Walker’ is discussed in terms of the ‘Red Road’, the ‘Good Medicine Way’ and living as the ‘Hollow Bone’. Accepting the Stone Tribe as the historians of Mother Earth, with living wisdom for all humanity, enhances the practitioner’s ability to properly serve their fellow ‘Two Legged’.

Stone Medicine is a gift to the therapist who suffers from sore thumbs and joints, stressed wrists, tired muscles, back strain and other physical stress from hours of work as a massage therapist.

While the temperatures offer vasodilatation and vasoconstriction, sound vibrations affect the neurological system to remove stress at a deeper level than can be attained through normal deep tissue massage.
