Stone Medicine courses

Safety measures, contraindications and general information about hot and cold stone massage are combined with the unique experience of a
ceremonial approach.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The focus of these workshops are on the spiritual aspects of hot and cold stone massage with specific instruction on stroke technique and placement of heated and chilled stones for soft tissue manipulation. There are entry level courses that will serve the therapist who is seeking basic education in Geothermal Therapy. For the more experienced practitioner, we offer advanced training.

Stone Medicine LLC courses are approved by the Stone Massage Association and through a variety of national and international associations.

Stone Medicine LLC is certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education Approved Provider (Provider #424826-00).

All workshops include demonstrations, lectures, written materials, manuals and hands on practice sessions. Education on the science of Stone Massage includes contraindications, safe temperature ranges (both hot and cold), focuses on safety protocols and sanitation as well as ethics.

All Stone Medicine courses are designed for the professional massage therapist, however lay persons are invited to some courses that are appropriate for home use with friends and family. Lay people who wish to develop a business will need to seek professional education and appropriate licensing from local governmental agencies.

* Ceremonies are always free; the class fees are collected only to cover expenses of the presentation and for the educational and certification portions of this workshop, you can not pay for ceremony!
